When your tried-and true revenue streams are paralyzed, take advantage of your other talents and opportunities.

If the buzz word of the year is “pivot,” my team and I at FLOMO are masters of pirouettes.

FLOMO is known for “everything you need to celebrate” with 6000+ colorful party, stationery, holiday and classroom products.  When COVID-19 paralyzed our business operations almost a year ago, I knew we needed to shift away from areas that have been tried-and-true revenue streams for years.  I am so proud of the FLOMO team for masterfully shifting and opening up new directions for our business.

To meet demand for stay-at-home items, our US product developers swiftly designed new product lines in fitness (FLOFit), COVID-19 prevention, and arts and crafts, and began developing products for other companies as well.

With all FLOMO products produced at our regular audited factory network in China, Taiwan, southeast Asia as well as Germany, Italy and Poland, we quickly launched Global Sourcing services, putting our 60 years of manufacturing experience and 25 years of distributing in the US to use for other companies needing networks to cut costs in bringing new products to life.  Our production experience yields strong relationships with those who source gift bags, seasonal and party products, office supplies, and personal protective equipment (PPE) and personal care products, housewares and kitchen items, hardware, and more.  We are now offering these sourcing opportunities – already vetted and credible because of our long-standing relationships -- to third parties.

Taking advantage of our 100,000 sq. ft. warehouse space 20 minutes outside of NYC, we now offer partnerships for 3PL and Supply Chain Management, helping businesses with efficient, cost-effective options for e-commerce fulfillment within our quality facilities.

FLOMO also began offering our own products as custom printed gifts/promotions for business branding.  Imprinting company logos on our FLOFit fitness line, gift bags and party supplies, seasonal and office products gives us the opportunity to offer competitive bulk pricing.

For FLOMO, the pandemic has required us to expand beyond our usual specialties and focus on how we else can help potential customers resolve their pain points, in the most cost-effective way.  And we will continue to innovate and pirouette as long as customers need problems solved.

Wendy Shen is the founder and CEO of FLOMO a designer, manufacturer, importer and distributor, as well as a major national brand of retail products.  Most recently, Wendy and FLOMO launched new business services in Third Party Logistics (3PL)/Supply Chain Management, Global Sourcing, and Promotional Products to better serve customers through this uncertain time when consumers need quality products quickly.
